Spring Training After A Cold Winter

Spring training is underway and that means warmer weather is on the way.
As a kid, before year round sports, spring training was an anticipated time of year. It meant school was almost out and your team had a chance to win the World Series.
When I first began working at channel 4 in 1990 we went to spring training every year and then the Jaguars changed that.
This weekend I'm going to spring training for the first time in 15 years and I have to admit I feel a little bit like a kid again. I can't wait to sit in the bleachers with some peanuts under sunny skies and talk baseball with my friends.
There is something about a baseball game where the world disappears for a few hours and in spring training the players seem more at ease, they seem almost normal. Autographs are easier to get, players will sometimes stop and talk and everyone is in a good mood because baseball is back.
If you get the time this year or any year take your family to spring training, its cheaper than the regular season, and your kids will have a memory with you for a lifetime.
